The first thing I think of when I see or hear “Spikes Tactical,” is its cool spider/mask logo. There’s plenty of mystery/controversy about what the spider logo actually is or has hidden in it, but one thing that is agreed upon is that the company makes top-notch AR-15s and AR-15 parts. The Florida-based manufacturer has once again upped its cool factor by entering the suppressor market with its Buckwheat .22LR suppressor. While the company and suppressor name grab your attention, the quality build components should, too. The Buckwheat features a fluted 7075-aluminum tube, which houses the baffle system. The blast baffle is made from titanium, while the remaining baffles are constructed from aluminum, which help keep weight down. The baffles are Iridite-coated for corrosion resistance, designed to interlock using keyed areas on each baffle, and the ports intentionally rotate through the stack once constructed. In addition, the end cap showcases stainless steel and has an O-ring for an air-tight seal. This is a take-down model and comes with a proprietary tool for disassembly.
