COL. Townsend Whelan, "According to the Colt Historical Archive Letter" the most prolific Firearms author/writer from 1888 until his death in '61. Including the original Colt 2 tone magazine,  Sieta Chino design, etc. 
I have owned 3 digit serial number and 4 digit serial number, however this is the absolutely lowest serial number that I have ever held!
