The 223 Wylde is a proprietary rifle cartridge chamber that combines elements from a civillian .223 Remington chamber and the Military 5.56 NATO chamber.  Rifles with a .223 Wylde chamber will accept both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition, but the advantage of the 223 Wylde chamber is that it allows the use of both pressure levels safely while at the same time increasing accuracy potential across the range of potential pressures.  It is currently being used by manufacturers who produce "National Match" competition rifles.
