Rangemaster Three-Day Firearms Instructor

Development & Certification Course

This is an intensive full three-day (24 hours total) course that teaches candidates:

modern adult learning/teaching theory;

preparation, delivery, and documentation of training;

development of training aids, including power points and others;

coaching methodologies, diagnosing and correcting shooters’ errors;

modern, effective gun-handling techniques, designed to work under stress;

proper handling/operation of a variety of handgun types; and

effective, efficient combat marksmanship techniques.

The course time is divided about equally between classroom sessions and range firing, and each student will fire approximately 850 rounds of ammunition. Students will act as coaches for other students, and each will be coached extensively in turn. Students also receive a 250 page training manual, which is a valuable information and reference resource. To graduate from this course, students must pass a shooting qualification and pass a written examination.

This course satisfies the training requirements for the Oklahoma CLEET regulations to become an OK SDA Instructor; for a state firearms instructor license in South Carolina by SLED; for 24 hours of continuing education credit in South Carolina by SCCJA; for 24 hours training credit by Georgia POST ; for handgun instructor license from Tennessee Dept of Safety; is accepted by the Arkansas State Police for licensing as a state instructor; and it is accepted for 24 hours of in-service LE training in Florida and for signing off on Florida CWL applicants. Also, the NRA Law Enforcement Division accepts this course for 40 hours of continuing education credits for NRA LE firearms instructor renewals.

You can pick up some steel targets at Onidah Arms on your way there, and place them at 1000 yards away for long-range plinking. There's also lots of naturally-formed berms that you can use for desert LARPing and doing interesting courses of fire.

Roads are privately-maintained by an Association. Neighbors are mainly cattle ranchers, retired homesteaders who also shoot, or other type of ranchers.

Land can theoretically be rezoned to AG land via a grazing lease and the right paperwork with one of the adjacent ranchers, potentially saving you money on property taxes as well. I was in the middle of this process but decided to sell the land instead. Very quiet area with no sketchy neighbors or wanderers.

Gate is locked with a padlock, code will be provided to future owners. This property is about a 2-hour drive from Tucson, and 30-45 minutes from Willcox.

At an asking price of $52k for 81.25 acres, this is priced aggressively at $640/acre. The only other empty land I was able to find on Zillow at a cheaper price per acre do not offer the potential and amenities this property does, or are completely flat with no berms to act as backstops for fired rounds.
