This is a rare Smith and Wesson .45 Hand Ejector, Brazilian Contract of 1937, revolver. Only 14,000 were imported to the US. with 25,000 Model 1917's were made for the Brazilian Government The piece is marked "S&W D.A.45", and “Made in U.S.A.” It has the “Brazilian Crest” with “1937” under it on the side plate. The piece has a 5.5 inch barrel, wooden grips and a lanyard ring. FINISH APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN RE-DONE AS SOME POINT, CYLINDER HAS A DIFFERENT SERIAL THAN FIREARM.
