The .41 Magnum was introduced in 1964 and was originally conceived as an ideal police round., offering a larger diameter bullet than the .357 Magnum without the over penetration and heavy recoil of the .44 Magnum. The .41 Magnum was a little ahead of it's time and the .40 S&W caliber is todays popular caliber over the .357 Magnum.

This is a HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER Pre 1969 Smith & Wesson's 57 in .41 Magnum. Features include "S" serial number prefix and is double-action revolver built on the N Target Frame. This revolver has the 8 3/4" full lug barrel with 6-shot fluted barrel with adjustable target rear site and red ramp front site. The blued finish is still excellent with light cylinder turn. Bore and rifling is excellent. Comes with a Smith & Wesson travel case with tools and paperwork.
