Siamese Type 46/66. Originally manufactured as a Type 46 at Tokyo Arsenal in Japan between 1903 and 1908 under contract for the Siamese military. In 1923 the Siamese Military adopted the 8x52mmR Type 66 cartridge, and began converting type 46 rifles to fire the new round. Overall this example is in excellent condition. Mechanically excellent, with a mirror like bore and 95%+ original bluing. Unnumbered, matching from the Arsenal. The stock looks great aside from some minor handling marks. Correct dust cover present. Missing the cleaning rod. Rear sight has been ground down to accommodate the new round, as is correct for the Type 45/66. This rifle is a very interesting part of Siamese / Thai history and would make a great addition to any collection. Not import marked. C&R Eligible. This is by far the nicest example I have ever encountered!
