This 1866 Springfield Allan Conversion Trap Door is chambered in 50-70. The 39” tapered round barrel is fitted with an adjustable one leaf rear sight and a fixed bead front sight. The barrel and trigger guard appears to have had all the original finish removed. The lock retains some of it's originals finish. Stamped on the lock plate is U.S. Springfield, 1864 and the spread eagle. The trap door has 1866 stamped by the hinge. The bore has some light scattered pitting with good rifling. The Walnut stock has scattered scratches and dings along with a few missing chips, especially along the ramrod channel. The metal butt plate shows some finish wear.
