I have a 1888 marlin arms rifle By serial number, I have a Marlin Model 1888 that was shipped from the factory in New Haven, Ct. in early 1889.
There were ONLY 1,727 of the Model 1888's 44w listed in the records, with a 24 inch barrel, octagon in shape . TOP EJECT serial numbe 21XXX
