1943 Sauer & Sohn produced German K98 chambered in .8mm Mauser. This rifle would make an excellent choice for a reenactor or a representative example of a K98 for a collection. The rifle is not matching, and has a very small import mark near the muzzle. This rifle is not a Russian capture. All WWII German markings are intact. Mechanically the rifle functions as it should. The bore is poor, dark and has very faint lands and grooves. Cosmetically, the bluing has mostly turned to a brown patina. Stock has numerous chips and scratches. Please note, there is a crack in the stock just behind the receiver tang (See Pictures). As with most imported K98’s this one is missing the locking screws, front sight hood and cleaning rod. This rifle is C&R eligible. Comes with a very nice reproduction K98 sling made by At the Front.
