Savage 1899H 25-35 WCF Lever Action Rifle

Up for sale a this beautiful Savage 1899H 25-35 WCF Lever Action Rifle. This is featherlight model with the 20" barrel. This rifle was only made between 1905 and 1915 and the serial number places this one as a 1909 manufacture. The original German Silver front sight remains intact as well as the original rear sight. All of the pieces have matching serial numbers, so this is all original forearm, stock and butt plate to the receiver. Notice at some point in it's life the butt plate has broken, but the serial number on it matches the receiver, so it is the original butt plate.

This rifle is fit to be added to a Collectors exhibition gun room. The serial numbers on all parts are matching. The action is tight and silky smooth with an excellent rifled bore. The Model 1899's are much more sought after than the standard model 99. This is the rarest caliber of takedown rifle ever made to my knowledge. Savage 1899H 22 Hi-Power Lever Action Rifle

Up for sale a this beautiful Savage 1899H 22 Savage (Hi-Power or HP) Lever Action Rifle. This is featherlight model with the 20" barrel and is also a takedown verison. This rifle in 22 HP was only made between 1912 and 1915 and the serial number places this one as a 1913 manufacture.

The .22 Savage Hi-Power cartridge, also known as 5.6×52mmR, was created by Charles Newton and introduced by Savage Arms in 1912. It was designed to be used in the Savage Model 99 hammerless lever action rifle. It is based upon the .25-35 Winchester cartridge necked down to accept a .227in/.228in diameter bullet. Its original loading was a 70 grain soft point bullet with a velocity of about 2790 feet per second. Today's handloaders can use modern powders & bullets to compare with 5.56 and .223 ammunition- in a century plus year old lever action rifle. Wow!
