Now, Kahr Firearms Group has given the semi-auto version a more authentic look with the introduction of their new barrel design on the Thompson carbine. With a barrel length of just 16.5” including the pinned and welded Cutts Compensator, it is 2” shorter than the 18.5″ model.

This .45 ACP model has a permanently affixed Cutts compensator which lengthens the finned barrel length to 16.5”, and puts the overall length for the carbine at 39” from buttstock to muzzle. The BATFE recently approved the permanently affixed Cutts compensator as a part of the barrel. The pinned Cutts compensator offered on the 18.5” barreled models are not considered part of the barrel. A STORIED HISTORY
When the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team chose the Springfield Armory Professional, it established the performance and feature set required of a modern, hard-use 1911. Inspired by that collaboration, the Tactical Response Pistol (TRP®) was developed to deliver the features and performance of the FBI’s custom pistol in the semi-custom category. Soon after its introduction, the TRP became a legend in its own right. Today, Springfield Armory proudly carries on this legacy with the new family of TRP’s.

A HAND-FIT FOUNDATION
The art of building a TRP™ demands a hands-on approach. Each pistol begins with a forged frame and slide for strength and durability. For enhanced precision, each pair is hand-selected for slide-to-frame fit and numbered to marry them with their matching components throughout the build process. The result is a premium fit, with refined blending and rock-solid performance.

HAMMER FORGED 4.25" STAINLESS STEEL BARREL
Manufactured from hammer forged stainless steel, the pistol features a match-grade 4.25” barrel for both durability and performance.

CARRY CONTOUR
The Carry Contour of this TRP™ offers greatly enhanced concealability while not impacting the ergonomics of the pistol.

HYDRA™ VZ GRIPS®
The VZ Hydra™ series black burl grips employ an aggressive texture that provides solid purchase without being abrasive against skin or clothing.

AMBI THUMB SAFETY
Easy to engage strong or weak-handed, the TRP™ features a ambidextrous thumb safety.

CERAKOTE® FINISH

Skeletonized for both reduced weight and faster lock time, the hammer of the TRP™ matches the rest of the pistol’s performance features.

FORWARD SERRATIONS
To allow for enhanced manual operation of the slide, the TRP™ employs forward slide serrations for ease of use.

GEN 2 SPEED TRIGGER
All TRP™ pistols feature the Springfield Armory® Gen 2 Speed Trigger that combines improved performance as well as impressive looks.

20-LPI CHECKERING
Hold a TRP in your hand, and you will immediately appreciate the frontstrap checkering. Cut directly into both the forged frame and mainspring housing, the checkering is measured at 20 lines per inch (LPI) and offers excellent grip with either wet or gloved hands. Typically reserved for custom firearms, this time-intensive process is one of the defining features of the TRP.

TOP SLIDE SERRATIONS
Providing an additional touch of custom detail, all TRP™ pistols feature finely cut sighting plane serrations along the top of the slide. The result is not only attractive and expertly executed, but offers the shooter an enhanced sight picture and maximum light diffusion.

TRITIUM THREE-DOT SIGHTS
For precision, even in the worst lighting conditions, TRP™ pistols are outfitted with a tritium three-dot sight system. The front sight contains a single tritium vial while the rear sight contains two and is serrated for reduced glare and fast target acquisition.
