You'd be hard pressed to find a better example than this 1976 vintage Colt SP1. This gun is a beauty, inside and out. As you can see it's in excellent condition. All original, all Colt, marked in all the right places.

The thin pencil barrel is chrome lined and features a glacial twist rate of 1-in-12 inches. The A1 pistol grip lacks the annoying finger ridge found on the A2 grip, and has a provision for a sling swivel. Finally the lower receiver is a slab side receiver, lacking the magazine button fence. The rifle is all original, just as the day it was delivered.

GENTLEMEN, THIS IS A VERY COLLECTIBLE PIECE OF US MILITARIA.

The Colt M7 bayonet is a specific variant of the U.S. military's M7 bayonet, known for being manufactured with Colt markings. It was produced under contract primarily by Imperial Knife Company. This bayonet is considered relatively rare and can be sought after by collectors due to the Colt branding.

(Excellent ++++Condition.)(Clear)(The Colt scopes found their way over to Vietnam and were used on M16 rifles and CAR-15 carbines. Used primarily by more specialized units like MACV-SOG, these scopes were likely privately purchased or bought with unit funds. At any rate, conventional troops weren’t being issued the optics from their arms rooms. Colt continued to sell Sporter Scopes until the 1990s, but it and Colt-style copies were used through Operation Iraqi Freedom. The Colt scope was a good fit for the M16A2, which retained the fixed carry handle and was even seen mounted on the removable carry handle of the later M16A4.(The Colt scope used a fine duplex reticle paired with a ballistic-drop-compensated elevation turret. Once the optic was zeroed at 100 yards, the reticle could be adjusted to account for bullet drop at longer ranges. It was calibrated for the velocity and weight of the standard military 55-grain .223 bullet from a 20-inch barrel.

In 1976 the United States celebrated its bicentennial. Apple Computers was founded by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. The Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Red Army at the Spectrum. Jimmy Carter was elected president and this Colt SP1 AR-15 left the factory in Hartford, Connecticut. Many years later and this Colt SP1 & The Colt 4X Scope & The Colt Bayonet are now considered collector’s pieces.

It is nickel plated and it was nickel plated while in German while with Weimar Republic's which means it was a Goverment Owned and Issued Pistol BEFORE being sent to Commercial Auction. This information has been confirmed by 2 appraisers and 1 Gunshop.

Both appraisers have given an estimated value between $5,500 to $8,250... At this time, I don't have any more information other than that. Furthermore, please see the screen shots of the pistols that aren't Nickel Plated while issued to German Police.
